The letter declaréd that he was “framed” by Raymond Anderson, taxicab driver, who turned state's evidence against him, When he had finished the letters he ate his supper. His guard, John Hornet, then took the dishes away and in the three minutes he was away Ford swung himself from the door. In his letter to the warden he sald he had carefully planned to take advantage of these few un- guarded moments. Ford was arrested ‘October 18, three days after an early morning | fire at Brooklyn had Killed his fath- er-in-law and former partner, George Keim, two other men, two women and a girl. He slashed his wrists while he was be- ing held in jail, but failed to kil himself. At his trial he was convict-' ed principally on the evidence of Anderson, who also was charged with murder, but was released after the trial.
