Leglon Notes—Mrs, Lena White City—Report on Salaries Tonlght | Jones—Plainville Briefs, ~Fire Burner in Modern Lunch— Jonathan Batholomew, aged 82 years, died Sunday at his home in New Haven following a short iliness, He was one of the best known resi- dents of Plainville at the time of the Civil war. He was born here and lived in Plainville until he en- listed in the Union army at the out- break of the Civil-War. He was the first volunteer to enlist from Plainville when the North and South took up arms against each other and was onc of the minute men of that period. He served throughout the war and was a par- ticipant fn many of the big battles fought in the struggle. Following the cessation of the war, he took up his residence in New Haven and has lived there ever since. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the under- taking parlors of Beecher & Ben- nett at 100 Broadway, New Haven.
