The board of assessbrs announces that lists of property must be filed with the board by Saturday night at § o'clock to avoid the penalty of an additional 10 per cent on tax lists. The assessors are in session nearly every day for the purpose of ac- | cepting the lists and to datg only a small percentage of the property owners In town has complied with the law. Although numerically of property owners who have al- ready filed their lists is great, the proportion of those who have not is great also with respect to the total number of property owners. No'lists will be accepted after next Saturday night at 8 o'clock. Interesting Speech Given A large crowd of interested voters turned out last evening to Willis Ballinger, director of the speakers' bureau for the La Follette- Wheeler campaign, present the ar- guments of the third party. The audience was by far the largest which has attended the three meet- ings held to explain the political views of the three parties. The arguments of the third party were deltvered in a clear and con- cise manner and the records of both the Republican and Democratic nominces were attacked on the grounds of thelr past performances. The achicvements of the standard bearers of the third party were ex- |tolled and their records were ,re- | cited. Although the audience was com- posed of voters of all political faiths those present declared that the speech was well worth listening to and it was evidenced to them why the third party campaign has gained such headway even in Plainville, where up to now it has been more or less an unknown quantity.
