A woman speaker will also be secured. President Black reappointed the same dinner committee as has been serving during the entire 13 years the club has been in existence. They were married In 1912, at Newport, R. I, on the very day that the first Mrs, Thomas obtained her final divorce decree here. Thomas had been for- bidden to remarry in this state dur- ing the lifetime of his first wife. Thomas has had a spectacular career. At one time he was rated as a multi-millionaire. New York, Aug. 16.—Travelling almost 4,000 miles from his home in Point, Texas, in a home-made house- car containing two rooms, Will A. Harris, who describes himself as an educator, has arrived in New York. Accompanying him on the trip were his wife and elght-year-old daughter. The two rooms of the house gar are fitted with beds, a table, stove and other domestic equipment. It has been the home of the family since December. He claims succeasful trans- plantation in experiments on animals. Dr. Kopanyi, who has etudied in Vienna, sald that the operations were performed by ligating the veins and arteries of the eye and then cutting the optic nerve and severing the eye muscles. In the experiments, from four to eiglht weeks brought about a complete restoration of sight, he de- clared. CHARGED WITH MURDER. Daniel King, Negro, Held Without Bonds by Waterbury Court. Waterbury. Aug. 16.—Daniel King, negro, brought back to this city from Portchester, N, Y., last night, was ar- raigned in city court here on a charge of first degree murder and was grant- ed a continuance of two weeks. He will be held without bonds. King is wanted for the murder of Willlam Robinson, another negro, in their boarding house at 246 Abbot avenue, & month ago. Robinson died at the hospital sev- eral hours after being taken there as a result of stab wounds in his ab- domen, sald to have been inflicted by King. JUDGE'S HOME BOMBED. ‘Washington, Pa., Aug. 16. — The residence of Justice of the Peace Henry Tennyson at Slovan, near here, was demolished today by an explosion of dynamite. Nearby buildings were damaged and windows broken within a radius of several blocks. No one was injured. Detectives declared they believed the dynamite was placed by persons who had been sent to jail by Justice Tennyson for violation of the prohi- bition laws. BY J. P.
