Bolivian products of this re- gion, including petrolenm and vari- ous minerals, ¢an now be transported by rail to Buenos Alrés or to ports on the Parana river, ‘Within another year this line will have been extended northward to Atocha where it will connect with ex- {sting rail line to La Paz, the Bollvian capital, and provide a new outlet for the foreign commerce of the entire country, which now has to go by the Pacific ports of Arica and Antofagasta in Chlle, and Mollendo in Peru, It will also make it possible to travel from Buenos Afres to Lima, Pern, by rail, except for the boat trip across Take Titicaca, and will complete an- other link in the projected Pan American rall route from Buenos Alres to New York. By The Assoclated Press, Rome, July 24.—~The committee en- trusted with the preservation of the Vatican Basilica today announced, apropos of the observations of an American architect in connection with necescary repairs, that the ravages of time in the historic edifice presented 1o danger and that repairs could be postponed until after the holy year. Cardinal Merry Del Val, arch- priest of St. Peter's, is following the observations of the condition of the Vatican made by the technical bu- reau of the Holy See, which included tour architectsa who are constantly watching the edifice.
