TRADE SCHOOL ATHLETES SUSPENDED FROM LEAGUE Ineligible 'To Play Against Other State Association Teams For Period of One Year New Britain state trade school's basketball team will not play against teams in the state trade school ath- letic association this spring, athletes at the school having been barred fot a year from participation in league activities at a recent meecting of the state association. The school will have a fast baseball team this season, nevertheless, and will play a full schedule on home and out of towp diamonds. The edict by which schoo!l athletics are barred from league affairs was the result of two ineligible players appear- ing in a contest against Bridgeport trade school. A league rule requires that players, to be eligible, must be bona fide puplls at a school for a period of thirty days. One of the players who appeared in a basketball uniform was a former pupil at the New Britain school and the other had been attending classes for 26 days. Director Herman Hall said this after- noon that the men were played through oversight, When he learnpd that they had been used, he disband- ed the team and wrote a letter of pology to the league. ‘It was a teehnical, but not inten. violation of a league rule,” Mr, Hall said, “Some of the boys were in favor of quitting the association but T advised them to take their medicine like men snd they have decided to do this’” that the of Mr, Hall expresscd the opinion fl-mt: fhe league action was rather drastic, NORWALK DEPUTY SHERIFFV Bridgeport, April 16.—Sheriff Sim- n Pease of Fairfield county, today announced the appointment of ¥d- ward J.
