B. H. S. ag- | gregation of ball tossers staged tho; well known come-back and won to the tune of 32 to 22 at the State Amory| Saturday afternoon. | Not a little credit for the win goes to “Johnnie” Grip, who has been out| of the lineup for three weeks with an Injured knee. With his team in| the rear of a 17 to 11 score “Johnnie” was put in the lineup and as usual, he came through. Although his knee| handicapped him some he neverthe- less put much spirit into the team, and they proceded to play sensallonnl basketball. The team looked bad in the first| balf. The boys could not seem to| shoot, their'passwork was wretched, and they couldn't seem to hold the South Manchester team in check no| matter how hard they tried. No one/ player seemed to be alone guilty. They all shot, and missed. Although | Belser missed many of the opportuni- ties offered him, his work on the whole was far better than the others| in this half. The score at half time| was 17 to 11 in favor of the Silk| Towners, | The Red and Gold team started the | rally that brought them victory in the second half “when they ran ‘up their score to 18 before the South| Manchester boys could get a point.| The Silk Towners went into the lead for the last time in the game on a! field goal. ¥From then on it was neth-| ing but New Britain. They showered the hoop with field and foul goals. With about ten seconds to go the sub- stitutes filled four of the postions on| the team. One play was completed | before the game ended. Those who played ware, Barrows, Haber, Gennett and MeGrath. “Howie" Belser again starred for the Red and Gold team, getting just| half of his team’s points. He scored six field goals, and four from the free throw line. Beloin his running mate at forward also played well. “Mike” Zwick was the leading performer for | South Manchester, Although he was, not the leading scorer for the team his floor work was the chief factor | in their game, The summary:— N. This together | with the excellent offensive work of Darrow and Haber, and the good de- fensive work of Gierochowski, Bare rows, and McGrath helped the team ! on to vietory. The Hardware City team took the lead in the first part of the game, and held it until the end The South Manchester team could ' not score in the first ‘quartee duc to the splendid guarding of Barrows and MecGrath.
