At the meeting of the school board yesterday afternoon the finance com- mittee submitted the proposed budget for the fiscal year 1924-1925. It was voted to postpone action on the matter until January 256 when a special meeting will. be held prepara- tory to approaching the board of finance and taxation for the appro- priation. The proposed budget calls for & total of $918,310, or an hl(-l:eue of ,810 over the appropriation for the present vear. In addition to the ‘regular items an additional $7,000 is asked, $2,000 for retaining walls and grading at the Monroe #chool and $5,000 for equipment of the pro- posed cafeteria at the High school.
