Second Advent. 10:45, Sunday morning service with Methodist Churches, Trinity Thanksgiving By Rev. Henry W. Maier. Thanksgiving is not a matter of ttme, occasion or worda. Thanksgiving is an attitude of mind, soul and spirit toward source of that which blesses our lives. There are times and occasions, the harvest time, when we are espe- cially reminded of the working of timse great forces in our behalf. But even then if the state of mind, soul and spirit are not attuned to the Divine, there is no Thanksgiving, no grateful recognition of the energy used in our behalf. What is a blessing? That which so | ministérs to my needs that T am bet- ter able to live my life, do my tasks, give my service than T would have been able if these had not come into my life. What has so ministered to my life? God and Christ and the Spirit, food |and shelter, and clothes and friends, {and loved ones. Life's vicissitudes and incidents have preparcd me bet- ter to meet life's problems and work. A reeognition of these and a right attitude toward the source of all good —that is Thanksgiving. ] the | like | THANKSGIVING FILM AT S0UTH CHURCH {Barly Pilgrims Shown in Famous Story of Colonial Courtship The Courtship of Miles Standish will be shown on the movie screen at the South Congregational church to- morrow night in a special Thanksgiv- ing picture.
