Du- Pont De Nemurs & Co. today declared | a quarterly dividend of $2 on com- HIT BY SPEEDING AUTO, RENDERED UNCONSCIOUS Michael Waida Thrown 10 Feet, But Driver .l*‘nlls to Stop and Investigate Michael Waida, an emplove of the Maplecroft farm, is reported as rest- ing comfortably at the New Britain general hospital following an accident on Stanley street late Saturday night in which he was struck by an un- known autoist going in the direction of Hartford. Albert Gallnot, the only witness to the affair, has told the po- lice that the car which struck Waida was traveling at a fast rate of speed. Waida and Galinot had been to New Britain and after alighting from the trolley car at Francis street proceeded to walk to the farm. An automobile, going in the same direction struck Waida and threw him a distance of about 10 feet. He was rendered un- conscious and remained in that condi- tion until after he had been taken to the hospital, where he was attended by Dr. George W. Dunn. George Reilly of 97 Bassett street took the injured man to the hospital in his machine. The poliec are investigat- ing. Reinhardt Helming of Bristol re- ported to the police that he struck Ignazio Renzonia of 420 Myrtle street at the corner of West Main and Lin- coln streets, He said that he was traveling east on West Main street when Renzonia stepped from the side- walk in front of the car and was knocked down.
