Collision Near Belvidere The case of Tony Abromowicz of 46 Itiechmond avenue, charged with violating a rule of the road, Wwas | arrested by Policeman Patrick O'Mara after his automobile had collided with a machine driven by Jacob Young of 46 Wakeficld court, at the corner of Allen and Stanley streets at about 6 o'clock last evening. According to the police Young was traveling south on Stanley street when Abromowicz turned into Stanley street from Allen street, striking Young's car and pushing it against a trce on the side of the road. Alling in police court this morning on a charge of drunkenness and was given a suspend- ed sentence to the state reformatory, made a fruitless attempt at police headquarters Saturday night to com- mit suicide. The attempt, however, was frustrated by Officer Michael Brophy, night patrol driver. Shortly after Burke had been locked up in e cell, Officer Brophy went into the cell room and there found Burke hang- ing from the cell door with a necktie about his neck. Later, after the necktie had becn taken from him, he | was put in the padded cell with no clothes other than his trousers and & pair of shoes, but again Officer Bro- phy saw him tying his trousers about his neck.
