Saxe. “Gold Star” Mothers Invited Invitations were lssued today by Eddy-Glover Post, American Legion, to 62 mothers who lost sons in the service, to occupy seats of honer in a reviewing stand to be placed on Cen- tral park during the military parade which is to bring the Legion conven. tion to a close next Saturday after. noon, The reviewing stand will be de. voted exclusively to the gold star mothers and will be directly opposite the stand to be occupied by state and local officlals and military officérs. Chairs will be provided and an unob- structed view of the parade will be afforded. Gold star mothers whose names are not in the hands of the Legion and who, because of this fact or errors in the mails do not recelve invitations, are asked to get in touch with the Home BService Bureau at City Hall and an invitation will be sent at once. Curtis L. Sheldon who {s handling parade arrangements, was in confer- ence yesterday with Supt. J. J. Snave- ly of the Hartford division of the New Haven rallroad and received as- surance that no freight trains would be allowed to cross the Main street crossing during the parade. There are no scheduled trains for some time prior to the hour set for starting the parade. The procession will be little less than half an hour passing a given point, the parade committee expects. The parade committee has been in« formed that the Hartford companies of the 169th regiment will come to the city by trolley, leaving the cars at Chestnut and Eim streets, and marching to corner of East Main street, where the parade will form. The cavalry troops will come over tha road by way of Franklin square to Elm street. The Waterbury Legion will send 50 automobiles, and 50 men will come from Bridgeport by train. It possible, an ambulance will be | secured to follow up the parade and furnish treatment to any who drop out of the line of march. At Walnut Hill park, a Red Cross emergency tent will be provided with Dr. George H. Dalton, formerly a captain in the medical sérvice, in charge. Mayor A, M. Paonessa this meérn- ing accepted the invitation of the committes to be present at the epen- ing session of the convention at Odd Fellows' hall and formally welcomé the delegates to the city.
