SCHOOL FOR ATRMEN "ENGOURAGES PROBE a Tnvites Mayor to Investigate and Tells Who Backers Are An investigation of the National Asronautie Assoclation, which Mayor A. A copy of the letter follows: “On or about July 19, this associa- tion wrote you advising that a free fiying scholarship was heing Inaugu- rated to give qualified young men or women an opportunity to learn to iy without having to pay the cost of tui- tion at a good flylng school, “It was explained in the letter that these scholarships could be earned by candidates arousing public inter- est in your community in support of national aeronautics, and effectively tying that sentiment, through mem- bership in the National Aeronautic Assoclation, with the natlon-wide campaign now under way by the as- soclation, to put America first in the a “You were so kind as to recom- mend the names of two persons as contestants, “We are now informed that a New Britain newspaper recently stated that the mayor would investigate the N.
