Offerings I-‘rom the Legiti-| mate, Vaudeville Stages' and Screen With Musical | and Amateur Presenta- tions to Wind Out Year, | Judging from announcements of lo- cal theater managers, officials of the New Britaln Musical and Choral olubs and various traternal organizations in this city, local theatergoers will be af- torded mueh in the line of good en- tertainment during the 19231924 sca- son which is officially ushered in ou Labor Day. The management of the Lyceum theater this week algned a contract with the I, C, Erlanger Producing Co, of New York to send to New Nritain throughout the winter and at short intervals road attractions of the best caliber, New Britain has not housed a road attraction in many years and has depended upon vaudeville to sup- ply all stage entertainments except- ing when stock companles played at the Lyceum for short periods. No definite announcement is boing made | by the Lyceum management as to the name of attractions to be played at the theater, but the first attraction, which will be of a musical nature, 15 scheduled around the latter part of September, Jbhn C. Contaras of Contaras Hros. & Perakos has previously announced that both the Palace and Capitol the- aters will be the home of Keith vau deviile with four acts playing at the| former house and five the latter, Feature pictures with shorter subje will conclude the performances these theaters. | During the intervals between road attractions at the Lyceum a straight| moving picture policy will be adhered to. Fox pictures, formerly booked at what was the Fox theater, will play this house exclusively. The New Britain Musical club has made plans for an extensive s which will include not only recitals members of the ciub, but public re- citals as well. One of the outstan ing features of the year for this or- ganization will bé the bringing here in December of thé New York Sym- phony orchestra, which will play at the Capitol theater. If plans materialize the Y. M. T.
