Park Commissioner Knows Secret About Some Local Dooryards “We are laboring under the belief that the people will run their parks the same way they do their door- yards, and apparently some of them are doing it,”" said Park Commissioner W. F. Delaney in a discussion yester- day concerning the problem of the lit- tering of Walnut Hill Park and other parks by people who eat their lunch- es on the lawn and then throw empty bags and boxes, bottles and cans around on the grass for some one else to clean up. “We are doing what we can to rem- edy this. trouble, but it is a difficult task,” said Park Superintendent Ralph C. Wainwright. Several additional rubbish cans have been installed in the park and new sign boards con- taining the rules and regulations of the board of park commissioners will be placed there next week. * Although nothing has been done in this direction at this time, it is known that at least one park commissioner has recommended additional police service at the park next summer. A brass strainer on a drinking foun- tain which cost the commission be- tween $16 and $17 has been broken and other damage has been done. The park department is busy in all| sections of the city at this time. A| new sidewalk has been laid at the tri-| & angle at the corner of Broad and North Burritt streets and the ground there has been graded and cleaned of stones and rubbish. or bu yo ad Yot A, bu Your last opportunity these level $112 to $189.
