REGISTRARS TRIAL ON Cahill-Harrigan Case Before New Ha- ven Court Today New Haven, Oct. 13.—The Cahill- Harrigan case was taken .up in city court again today and was still being presented from the prosecution’s standpoint at the noon recess, This the case in which General Registrar Thomas E. Cahill and Deputy Eugenc Harrigan are charged with leaving certain names off the lists used in the democratic primaries. The feature of the morning testi- mony was the evidence of Edward P. Keating, jailer at the county jail who said he was the one who took to Assist. City Attorney Farley the type- written lists of names of voters left off the voting lists, and on which omissions the complaint was based. BANK STATEMENT. . Hartfogd, Oct. 13.—Bank Commis- sioner John B. Byrne has forwarded to the federal authorities at Wash- ington a statement of the condition of state commercial banks and trust companies as of September 15. The period which the statement covers be- gan June 30. The statement dées not include savings banks. The total amount of the deposits in the banks and trust companies Sep- tembers 15, was $90,800,822, an in. crease for the period of approximate- ly $7,5687,629.66. The loans outstand- ing totalled $84,903,654.70, an increase of $1,300,000. The total reserve in all the banks included in the statement was $20,628,163.63. The banks of the state sald Com- missioner Byrne are in a very healthy state, having a sound basis and: well able to take care of the requirements of business.
