Having given up participation on the diamond, “Pete” Fusari, one of the best players in these parts several seasons ago, has taken up bowling. He is playing with one of the teains in the Universal league, and although it is his first season on the lanes, “Pete” is knocking over the pins for some good scores. Filipino friends of Pancho Villa, the flyweight champion, are raising a fund to buy him a belt. “Indlan” Russell and Eddie Wallace, would like to present Villa with a number of belts. If the inteerst in the -opening of the local foothall season is a criterion, a big crowd will be on hand next Sun- day at Vibberts FField, when the New s WITH CLERKIN, conceded only the faintest chance of copping the American league title, One of the warmest admirers of the New York Glants in this city is Judge George W, Klett. The work of this committee is to supply New Britain with a New Modern Hotel, sufficient to meet the needs of a city such as ours. This hotel will have a great influence upon every business in New Britain, as it will supply a civic need so long desired by our citizens. o ccums cormwmoScoe The question of location for the hotel has received most careful consideration. Hotel special- ists have been consulted and it is their undivided o pinion that the site at the corner of West Main and Washington Streets, is the bhest possible location. This will locate the hotel within a few minutes of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad station, near all the.shops and theaters, and in fact, is in the very heart of the city. This site offers unexcelled opportunity for shop rentals. These rentfillls Fdave a vital bearing on fhe success of the hotel and will make possible larger dividends to stockholders. This being a project of the community, by the community and for the community, every resi- dent of New Britain will be given an opportunity to participate in the purchase of the stock during the week of October 5th to-the 12th inelusive. The par value of the stock will be $100 per share, fully paid and n}clm-assessable. The terms of payment will be liberal and will extend over a period of eigh- teen months. . The Preferred Stock with which this Hotel will be financed is in denominations of $100, each block of two shares of Preferred Stock carrying with it a bonus of one share of common stock at no par value—the preferred stock will pay dividends at the rate of 6%, while the common stock will participate in the earnings over and above the dividends on the preferred stock and carrying charges of the New Hotel. Fonseca made four hits and accepted 13 chances in the first game, and in the first inning of the second game he drove a homer to right center with Roush on base. Boeckel's play was a feature of the second game. Roush, Burns and Cruise made good catches. Scores: What sounds like a prohibitive price has been asked for hleachers for use at Vibberts fleld this season. The purchase of this stock should appeal to every citizen, and property owner of New Brit- ain; first, because the investment is represented by land, bricks, steel and good will, in one of the most desirable locations in New Britain, together with the fact that the earnings of other Hotels justify the prediction that the investor will receive a satisfactory return on the investment; also be- cause a well known operator of hotels has agreed to direct the operation of the new hotel. This gives assurance of experienced, capable and efficient management. Secondly because the project is distinctly a community enterprise and a new modern hotel will be a very definite asset to the entire community.
