P. COMMITTEE ELECTS RORABACK Vote Stands 23 to 12 For Retention of Present Chairman—Women to Be Given Places on Board. New Haven, Sept. 14.—J. Henry Roraback of Cannon was re-elected chairman of the republican state central committee vesterday after- noon when the new committee was organized by a vote of 23 to 12. On the committee sat Major John Buckley of the 35th district who has been secretary of the committee al- fhought not a member of it, for sev- | eral years. Under the new rules adoptd by the convention senator- ial district conventions will be held within a short time to choose a woman member of the committee from each district. The enlarged committee will then meet and com- plete its organization by choice of vice-chairman, a secretary and a treasurer. T'nder the new rules these senatorial conventions will be called within 15 days. NEW G. O. P. RULE. West Haven to Have Four Delegates and Orange Two. New Haven, Sept. 14.—The rule applicable to the number of de gates the Towns of Orange and West Haven may send to republican con- ventions and which the state conven- tion adopted yesterday gives West Haven four delegates and Orange two. The rule was intended to pro- vide ‘equal representation but it is explained that the word ‘‘equal” does not apply numerically but gives to Orange equal representation with oth- er small towns of the state of representatives. As Orange had no representation in yesterday's conven- tion it was understood that the pro- ponents of the new rule were agree- able to it because hereafter the town will have seats in all conventions in which representation is required on the basis of representatives elected to the general assembly.
