E. Toneywell of Clayton, Mo, just outside of St. Louis, who has a rec- ord of victories in big races which might be envied by any pilot Mr. Honeywell, during his flying life, has won seven first places, seven second places, one third place, two fourths and one fifth in big races, besides beating all other contestants in a na- tional race in which he flew, although not officially entered. His record fol- lows Chicago contest 1908, piloted the Fielding— San Antonig, winning both distance and endurance tropies—S$20 miles in 23 hours crossing four lakes, 355 miles of water, which stands as the water record of the world today. Won the Peoria contest in 1903. St. Louis centennial, 1909, in air 47 hours 41 minutes: second in distance and endurance. Indianapolis Nation- al, 1910, second for distance St. Louis International, 1910, place. Kansas City National 1911, fourth place.
