There is no hydrant on Bank strect which is the roadway leading to the Casting company plant and the need of one being placed there was clearly seen last evening. Had there been one at a point central on the street, a| greater pressure could have probably been had and the need of laying a long stretch of hose would not have been necessary. The fact that any part of the cupola itself was saved is due| to the efforts of the bucket brigade that worked tirelessly until the last spark was extinguished. The firemen realized when they arrived at the scene of the fire that they were in for a tough battle and directed the fighting in such a way as to keep the blaze from creeping over to the main portion of the factory.
