Always More Quality For LESS Money of the Easter week uprising against Great Britain in 1916 by at- tempting to oust the provisional gov- ernment and establish a republic is a question that is being seriously dis- cussed in well informed circles both in England and Treland. The London Daily Mail's Dublin cor- respondent declares that this phase of Ireland’s perplexities has heen rather freely debated in Dublin and that opinions there differ widely. The correspondent convinced that the provisional government will do noth- \ing to provoke a rebellion by im- | mediate attempts to restore order. He is less clear about the attitude of the | more radical republicans and appears to think that the latter's action de- |pends on how far they Delieve they lcan sway public opinion with them. The correspondent remarks that the |extreme republicans are already in ill favor with the general recognized thinking element in Ireland and also with the great bulk of the general public. He recalls however that the people in Ireland generally were at first against the rebellious element in 1916, but later rapidly veered to the point of view of the revolutionists, The Mail's representative in Dublin has come to the conclusion that both sides are simply jockeying for the psycho- logical moment in the meantime v considering the temper of the general public in Ireland. In certain commonly well informed political quarters in London a violent stroke is anticipated by extremist re- publicans at a very carly date. Con- sequently these Inglish sources of opinion believe that Easter week will be selected as a timely moment for a bold stroke because of its 1916 as- sociations. Duffy Is Assaulted.
