T0 CLOSE MAY 28 Everyman's Bible Class May Recon- sider Community Drive Action— Would Break World's Record. Everyman's Bible class will close for the summer on the last Sunday in May and will open for the winter per- iod the first Sunday after Labor Day, according to action taken at a meet- ing of the executive committee yes- terday afternoon. The committee has decided to ac- cept the suggestion made by Rev. John I. Davis and go after enough new members to make the class en- rollment 1,600 before the close of the season, thus creating in six or seven months the largest men's Bible class in the world. Dr. J. E. Conger was elected chair- man of the reception committee. There appeared to be some misunder- standing of the action taken by the committee at a previous meeting to launch the United Community cor- porationg’ drive Sunday morning and there was a tendency to reconsider the original action. President Robert B. Skinner was instructed to get into touch with Leon A. Sprague, director of the drive, and come to a definite understanding before Sungay. The committee will meet at Y. M. C. A. next Friday evening. The report of the committee on “cleaner speech” was accepted and the committee will hold a meeting at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Y. M. C. A, rooms. Governor Lake will spealk to the class April 9, but at the latter's re- quest, plans for an official reception have been dropped.
