James Durkee, a well known farm- er of the southern section of town, narrowly escaped death a few days ago when his clothing became caught in a circular saw when he at- tempted to clear away some sawdust Mr. Durkee lives near the Meriden town line and his home is located on a branch road which leads from the Berlin turnpike. As the story is told was sawing a pile of using a cireular saw gasoline engine. It is id that he left the machine running and while bending over to remove the sawdust his clothing became caught in the machinery and was gradually pulling him towards the saw when he caught hold of the platform.
