For the Army, it is inconceivable to Army men as well as to-laymen, why the present army should have 17,000 officers against 1,700 officers in pre-war days, when the present army is less than twice as big. A drastic cut can and should be made here, where even army voices are crying for it. 2. For the Navy, it is altogether too crushing a program to be building ten great battleships at $38,000,000.00 each, and many lesser crafts, when many naval vessels are lying idle in navy yards because of a lack of men to man them. Drastic cuts can and should be made here, since all the world is reay to act in unisen. Resolved—That the president of the club be authorized to communicate these resoiutions to the president of the United States and to our senaters and representatives In congress with our ur- gent request that they give to them their most earnest consideration. Very respectfully, W, W. BULLEN, President, 'Men’s Club.
