THE GREAT ~SENT HOME FROM KINDERGARDEN — AMERICAN HOME GOLF AND THEATER, THEN TRIP T0 SEA This Is President Harding's Program for Today Atlantie City, N. J., Sept. 12—An early morning golf game today was the closing event in President Harding's seashore vacation. After a round on the Sea View club links, the president planned to motor to New York for an evening at a theater and then to board the presidential yacht Mayflow- er for a cruise en route to Washing- ton. With a long automobile trip before him the president arvse early today to say goodbye to Atlantic City. Motor- to the golf club for a foursome with Henry P. Fletcher, under-sec- retary of state, U. S. Senator Freling- huysen, of New Jersey and George Christian, secretary to the president, the executive was to lunch at the golf club and leave immediately for New York. Dinner was planned in a New York hotel and later the president and Mrs. Harding were to attend a popular Broadway musical comedy, boarding the Mayflower after the theater. The president had not determined today the extent of his vachting cruise. It was believed probable that, leaving New York harbor early Tuesday morning he would proceed direct to Washington but a stop on the coast was among the possibilities. If he should sail direct to Washington he would arrive there Thursday morning. The president and Mrs. Harding to- day expressed their pleasure over their visit here, which it was said, had greatly refreshed the executive. He was said to be pleased over the recep- tion given Nim here since his arrival saturday night, especially in his stroll Sunday afternoon on the Boardwalk and the reception of several hundred former service men of the Fifth di- vision, A. E. F. After returning from church Sunday morning, the president addressing the war veterans, expressed the hope for their aid in peace as well as war en- deavors of the nation. He also said that the United States had sustained the morale of the allies in the war, but disclaimed that its forces had won the war. The president pledged him- self to aid wounded and disabled vet- erans. Some of the older houses of Hol- land have two doors which are used only for marriages and deaths. LAKE SPEAKS AT 3RD WARD OUTING Governor Praise Legislature at Annual Gathering Saturday. Several hundred republicans, includ- Ing delegates from other eities and prominent members of the legislature, were in attendance at the annual sheep barbecue of the Third Ward Republican club Saturday afternoon at Lake Compounce. ‘The local committee had anticipated that it would be possible to have At- torney General Daugherty or United States Senator William E. Borah hera to address the gathering, but found at a late hour that neither speaker could come here. : Gov. E, T. Lake and Lieut. Gov. Charles Templeton were the speakers. The addresses dealt with the sueccess of the Republican party and what the sreakers characterized the optimistic outlook for a half century of G. O. P. supremacy. The legislature came in for a round of praise for its work dur- ing the last session. An automobile parade from Frank- lin square to Lake Compounce, head- ed by the Philharmonic band, was ene of the teatures of the affair. Many of the republican notables were in the procession.
