NATHAN HALE BLDG. 5 NOT COMPLETED Pupils Assigned to That School Will Be Reassigned Due to the fact that the Nathan Hale school will not be completed in time for the opening of the fall sessions, Supt. of Schools Stanley H. Holmes is work- ing out a plan whereby the pupils who were to be assigned to that building will -commence their studies at the Smalley school. All those now attend- ing the Elihu Burritt school were to be transferred to the new building. While cramped conditions will result from the dividing of room at the Smalley school, Mr. Holmes feels that this condition will exist for not more than a month. New Fire Escapes. The school board will shortly let con- tracts for the installation of fire escapes at the East street school, and changing the escapes on the Rockwell, Monroe and North End schools. But three vacancies in the teaching staff are anticipated. A number of teachers’ applications will go before the teachers’ committee of the board at a meeting within a few days. Resigna- tions, as follows, have been received: Catherine Palmer, instructor of Span- ish and French, High school; Marjorie Segur, instructor of English, High school; Charlotte Smith, instructor of history in the High school; Vera Wilcox, typewriting instructor; Cath- erine Fredericks, instructor of science in the Junior High school; Anna Whalen, Grade 7, Junior High school; Mary Cahill, Smalley school; Florence Hunt, Lincoln Street school; Mrs. Georgianna Hipelius Dunn, Open Air school. Miss Smith's resignation is caused by the illness of her mother in Illinois. School Calendar.
