The Rotary Club has arranged for a program of fireworks to be held at Walnut Hill Park which will exceed any other previous demonstration in this city, it is claimed. The commii- tee in charge, headed by President Leon A. Sprague, has secured the Connecticut Fireworks company al West Haven to provide for the gor- geous display. The committee is com posed of: Arthur G. Kimball, George H. Dyson, Howard Hart, Eugene J Porter, Johnstone Vance, Harry Jack- son and Ernest W. Christ. The mer- chants and manufacturers have aided in the celebration and contributions are being received. Concert in Afternoon. A concert will be held at the park in the afternoon and evening The program of fireworks and the pieces to be displayed, with their descrip- tions, are as fallows: Fireworks Display. SAKOWICZ Services Will Be Held Thursday Morning at 8 o’Clock The funeral of Sergeant Joseph Sakowicz who was killed in action April 20, 1918, during the Seicheprey engagement, will be held Thursday morning at 8 o'clock from the late home on Hurlbert street. "Military honors will be accorded the decease members of Company I, Veterans Corps of this cit nd Meriden as- sisting Kosciusko post in the ar- rangement of details. The deceased was born in Poland. ¥ e enlisted in Company I of the Na- tional Guard, November 14, 1911. In 1914 he re-enlisted and in 1916 was called for service to the border, be ing promoted to be a corporal while at Nogales.
