Tel. 381 CHORAL SOCIETY IS READY FOR CONCERT bpring Musical Festival Wednes- day—All Boxes Are Sold Final arrangements have been completed for the Spring Festival con. cert of the New Britain Choral society at Fox's theater, Wednesday evening, which bids fair to be the finest pro- gram so far presented by this organi- zation. Inasmuch as these spring choral concerts are not a profit-max- ing enterprise, but an effort to give the community fine choral music at & popular price they have come to be looked upon as the principal musical event of the season and are eagerly anticipated by local music lovers. More than the ordinary interest has been taken this year, due to the am- bitlous nature of the work undertak- en-—~Haydn reatio being one of the most dificult as well as one of the most melodious of oratorios filled with opportunities for impressive chorus effects with and without solo. ists with full orchestra accompani- ment, The oraterio will be given by a larg- and better balanced chorus than # heretofore been assembled in New ritain—170 volces in all. Sue Har- vard, soprano of the Moetropolitan Opera company; Judson House, teno and Fred Patton, pass—the soloists have been selected because of thetr well known ablility In oratorie. The chorus has been in rehearsal for several months past and their work is expected to excel even the past fine record of this soclety whicn has given New Britain prestige as a festival city in musical circles. Lo- cal wocloty will attend the concert in force. All boxes have been sold and as the concert is considered a social as well as musical event considerable entertaining will precede the per- tormance.
