Mary's parents took | her away from her husband and brought her to Illinois but she could not work under the laws of the state because although she was 14 years old, the legai age, she hd only reached | the third grade in school. Another law barred her from school because of her having been a mother, so she was taken to a police detention home while her parents cared for the baby and under a special dispensation the mother was permitted to go home evenings to see her child. Mary wants to back to Detroit to her husband but under the law she is to young to do so without her parents’ consent. NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS New Faces Will Be Seen Tonight in First, Third and Fifth Ward Sec- tions- of Chamber. At tonight’s session of the com- mon council several new members will be received into the body as a result of the recent elections. In the first ward Councilman George Wells will return as alderman and Burton C. Morey will come into the council as councilman; in the third ward Howard A. Timbrell and Max- well 8. Porter are new council mem- bers; Herbert Knowles and Francis Kortyko are to represent the fifth ward for the next two years. Lynn, Mass.,, April 20.—Fred Tor- tolini six years old, will tomorrow go to h,s home on Hgh Rock street in this city, completely cured of an at- tack of lockjaw which brought him near death at the Lynn hospital, where he was taken on March 28.
