Lansing, Mich., April 15.—The Welsh bill, aimed at Henry Ford's Dearborn Independent, was reported out by the house judiciary ecommittee yesterday without amendnrent and with a recom- mendationt that it pass. This bill would create the new crime of “general libel’ punish all per- sons attacking adherents of any re- ligieus sect by a fine not to exceed $10,- 000 and imprisomment of not more than one year for each offense. Representative George -~ Welsh of Grand Rapids, author of the bill, says it will pass the house.
