Shelton, Feb. 24.—The attention ol citixens here and mare especially of those who had relatives or friends in the trolley car wreck of Tuesday was directed today to the opening of the inquest by Coroner John J. Phel- an at DBridgeport. It was their ex- pectation that some definite explana- tion of the reason for the wreck would be brought out. The owner of the gasoline, the po- lice have stated, was Stephen T. Naugatuck, Feb. 24.—Fire broke out early today in the plant of the Naugatuck Lumber and Coal company in Union City, called out all the fire apparatus of the borough. The loss was estimated at $40,000. A large quafitity of lumber and se eral buildings of the company were destroyed. An abandoned dwelling also was burned.
