' New York, Feb. 15.—A dividend of $1.26 a share on common stock of $25 par value was declared at a meet.- ing of the directors of the Stahdard Co. of New Jersey This is the first dividend declared on $25 par value stock. An’ unusual amount of interest is being manifested in the cpmmon douncil meeting to be held tomorrow evening since the report of the bhoard of finance and taxation is to be sub- mitted and a recommendation will be made for the providing of a service- men's clubhouse with a salaried s retary. The latter project will volve the expenditure of $11.000. It is expected that the firemen will biing their campaign for a two-platoon system to the council chamber and urge that that body order it includ- ed in the budget. This will invoive an addition seven-tenths of a mill tax.
