The f{uneral was held this afternoon, and the burial was in St. Mary’s new cemstery. Mrs. Eouna Oslund Cronin, Mrs. Emma Ostund Cronin, aged 24 years, wife of Joseph Cronin, died this morning at 11 o’clock at the home of her mother, Mrs. Teckla Os- lund of 46 Belden street. She had been in {ll health for several months. Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a son, Kenmneth Cremin; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Peterson, of Ben- nington, Vt, and Mrs. Wilhelmina Anderson, of this ciy: and twe brothers, Edward and Oscar Osiund, of Bennington, Vt. She was a mem- ber of the Swedish Lutheran church and the Fridhem soctety. The fun- eral will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at her late residence. Rev. Dr. 8. G. Ohman will oficiate and the burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Hartford, Dec. 23.—More than 150 liquor cases are scheduled to come up befors Judge Edwin S. Thomas in the U. 8. district court here on December 28 and 29, the two days to be devoted by the court to dispos- ing of the great number of cases that bave collected in the efforts by gov- ernment agents. Ninety-eight cases are on the list for the first day and 62 for the second and Judge Thomas has said he will keep court in session until they are disposed of. Danbury, Dec. 28.—It has been dis- covered that an explosion in the busi- ness section of the city early today was the resuit of an accumulation of gas In the base of a steel pole of the ornamental electric lighting system. The gas had leaked into the hollow pole, from a neighboring gas main and the discharge was like that of a can- non. Belief that the detonation was the result of the work of safe blowers led the public to make an exhaustive but fruitiess search. WORKERS DISMISSED, New Haven, Dee, 23,—Discharge of many clerical workers in local freight offices today brought the total reduc- tion of employes on the New Haven railroad to about 3,000, it was stated today.
