) - —_— GENERAL MOTORS T0 DUPONT INTERESTS Morgan and DnPoni Get 61 Per Cent of Stock New York, Nov, 22.—After four days of negotiation more thhn 3,000,- 000 shares of the stock of the General Motors Corporation, representing al- most $50,000,000, passed. yesterday from the control and vwnership of W. ©. Durant, president of the corporation Into the hands of the Du Pont and Morgan Interests. Payment in the trans action which was one of the largest of Ity kind ever consummated, was made part in eash and part in stock of the Du Pont Securitiea Corporation, re- | cently organized by Plerre S. du Pont and his associates, The net _result of the deal, coupled | with the acquisition or General Motors stock at every eighth down in the re- . cent decline In the market, is the own- | ership by the Morgan and Du Pont in- | terests of more than 51 per cent, ot the 19,000,000 shares of General Motors stock now outstanding. The deal brings the two largest cor- porations in the industrial world—the General Motors and the United States steel Corporation, each in thd billion dollar class—under the domination of the Morgan interest and their asso- clates. It is probable, according to inti- mations of persons interested in the deal, that Mr. Durant will be elevated to the chairmanship of the board of General Motors. It is impossible to estimate the exact equivalent that W. C. Durant and js assoclatés received for the shares tiRt changed hands, because the cash re- celved amounted to less than 37 a share, and the balance was paid in shares of the Du Pont Securities Cor- poration, at present of undetermined value. Persons interested in the trans- j action sald, however, that almost $60,000,000 was involved. ORDER OF NOTICE. City Court.of New Britain, November 15, 1820.
