Foiren, Mgr EAMSHIP TICKETS REIGN REMITTANCES) ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD | "[AflUIELEfiY 2537 MAIN NE'EFITME[]N STREET CAMPAIGN ADDRESS { Farmer-Labor Candidate Scores Other Big Parties Scoring the democrat and republi- can parties for inefficiency in indus- trial and other matters and holding forth the Farmer-Labor party as the only political organization which could give the people a businesslike government and restore the country to a sound industrial basis, Parley rker Christensen, presidential can- didate on the Farmer-Labor ticket, 'urgod support for that party Lk | evening in an address at Turner Hall An audience of several hundred per- sons listened to Mr. Christensen’s re- marks. 1ker was introduced by Henry rdiner, chairman of the local branch of the Farmer-Labor party and a candidate on that ticket for the office of lieutenant-governor. suard Against Wa The speaker assured th audience, in his introductory remarks that no glory or honor is being sought by the party he represents but that the aim is the establishment of a serviceable government In spite of, rather than through the agency of the capitalists and captains of industry, the speaker said, this country has grown to its | present position of industrial import- ance. He cited instances of alleged industrial wastes, particularly in the handling of coal which, he claimed, had made it necessary to charge ex- cessive prices. He promised that no | such wastes would be permitted under the party he represents. Attacks Senator Harding Senptor Harding, candidate on the republican ticket for presidential hon- ors, is owned by party lcaders and a few plutocrats of the old Mark Hanna crowd, he alleged. At this point the speaker disgressed for moment to offer an apology for his own former affiliations with the republican party. He paid a tribute to Willlam G. Mec- Adoo, he claimed, had been side- tracked because he displaved too much red blood for the modern politi- cal parties and might be instrumental in having the men organized for their own good. Calling upon the gathering to po'nt out to him one act of the republid can party that was of benefit to the people or one constructive measure for the benefit of any industrial cen- ter. Mr. Christensen agreed to vote the republican ticket upon being con- vinced. In the event of his election, the candidate promised that one of his first official steps would be to throw the present cabinet out of the win- dow and replace it with a cabinet of workers from the factories or ofther industrial centers in place of the present Wall street reprgsentation, as he termed it. He prophesized that a Farmer-Labor president wonld come eventually and perhaps before many of those present expected it. Hits League of Nations. Touching briefly upon the League of Nations, Mr. Christenson said it was a devoid of red blood as was John D. Rockefeller. He caustically criti- ciged the moneyed men of Wall street for thelr lack of patriotism. Should the Farmer-Labor ticket be success- ful in the coming elections. Mr. Christensen predicted that there would be no more wars. .. Among other things predicted by the speaker in the event of the elec- tion of anyone other than the Farmer-Labor candidate was another Coxey's army march to Washing. ton. If he is elected, he d, every men who made excess profits du=ing r will be landed behind the = of federal prison City Advertisement NOTICE. Relating to Admission of Electors.
