Miss Helen Arute, aged 18 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Arute of 499 South Main street, died yester- day at her home of bloodpoisoning. The young woman was bitten by a mosquito last week, and on Friday a swelling appeared on her lip. Satur- day the swelling increased and a local physician was summoned. A Hartford doctar was also called into the case. For the past few days little hope was entertained for the girl life. Besides her parents, several brothers and sisters survive her. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Sat- urday morning at St. Joseph's church. HUERTA REVIEWS AFFAIRS Says Lower California Troubles Will Be Settlied Amicably—Thinks Villa Surrender a Sham. San Antonio, Tex., Aug. 12.—As- serting that Lower California is too far removed from the main source of supplies of the Mexican government for Provisional President de la Huer- ta to carry on extensive operations against Governor Cantu Gen. Pablo Gonzales, former candidate for the presidency of Mexico, today predict- ed that the differences between de la Huerta and Cantu soon will be settled amicably. Belief that Villa is not in earnest in surrendering to the Mexican gov- ernment was expressed by Gen. Gon- zales. Villa is merely taking advan- tage of the government to get sup- plies and money for his men before retiring into the mountains, accord- ing to Gen. Gonzales KIRBY SEEMS DEFEATED Caraway Scems Republican Choice for Senator in Arkansas Little Rock, Ark., Aug. 12.— U. S. Senator William F. Kirby apparently was defeated for re-nomination by Representative Thaddeus H, Caraway in Tuesday's state-wide democratic primary, unofficial returns from more than two thirds of the state showed today. Senator Kirby charac- terized by President Wilson as one of the “wilful” senators was nt tacked by his opponent during the campalign for his opposition to the na- tional administration in the early stages of the war. FORMER HUNGARIAN PREMIER RETURNING New York, Aug. 12.—Charles Hus- zar, former premier of Hungary, whose presence in this country brought protests from Jews who ac- cused him of respansibility for Jewish massacres in Hungary and of conduct- ing a monarchist propaganda here, sailed for Europe Tuesday, it became known today. M. Huszar stated upon his arrival here that he was on a special mission for his government. Secret of Good Health Al Depends Upon Good Blood and Good Circulation. Thin, impoverished blood results In pale sallow complexions, run-down anaemic conditions, lack of strength, energy and ambition. The remedy that has been very successful in this city is Vinol, a non-secret od liver and iron tonic, without oil, with beef peptones and hypapho: phites, acts very quickly in creating thousands of red corpuscles in the blood. It perfects the circulation, in- creases the appetite, aids digestion, and in this natural manner creates strength, a healthy complexion, vital- ity, energy and enthusiasm.—Advt. The Young Horribles of Arch street, a baseball team composed of boys between the ages of 14 and 15 years and managed by Donald Hatting of 106 Arch street, sent their represen- tative to the Herald office today to announce that they had vanquished an indoor baseball team from No. 2 engine house by a score of 15 to 4. Sighing as must have Alexander the Great when he sighed for more worlds to conquer, the Horrible's representative calmly announced: “An’ we wanter game wit’ th’ perlicemen. Put it in th’ pap'r that th’' ‘Young Hor'bles now challenge th' perlice de- partment.’ " NO SPEAKER YET Third Ward Committee Receives No Definite Sclection as Yet The committee named to secure a republican of national prominence for the annual outing of the Third Ward Republican club at Lake Compounce on September 11, has not as yet re- ceived any definite announcement as to who the speaker will be. The club filed with the ional committee the names of four prominent speakers who would be popular choice, and there is still hopes entertained by the club members that one of this number will be the selection. Senator Gorge W. Klett, in atten- dance of the gathering of former members of Connecticut legislature at Momauguin yesterday, found plenty of enthusiasm amang the out-of-town republicans relative to the coming outing. There pramises to be one of the most representative gatherings of republicans at the outing. i FOR SALE—Grocery 123 Cherry St. and fruit store at 8-11-1wx, FOR SALE—Three hundred fine trans- planted celery plants; speak quick if you want them: also endive plants.
