Alfred Bengston of East Street was discharged from the New Britain General hospital this morning where he had been taken early Sunday morning fallowing his being found in an unconscious condition on Church street about 1 o'clock, It was at first feared that the man had been as he had a cut two inches long under his left jaw and a badly swollen left cye. He was removed to the hospital in the ambulance. The man is 52 years of age and it Was found that he had taken too much liquor for the welfare of his physical condition. The authorities are in- clined to believe that the man fell while crossing the street and thus ac- received his injuries. When jousness he was unable to tell anything that had hap- pened to him. OPPOSITION IN WATERBURY People Object to Connecticut Light.& Power Company Erecting Poles on Street—Say It Is Too Narrow. Hartford, July 26.—Opposition de- veloped to thé granting of the peti- tion of the Connecticut Light and Power company for permission to erect poles in South Riverside street in Waterbury at the hLearing today before the public utilities commis- sion. The opposition was on the ground that the street was narrow { and that with an existing line of poles carrying electric wires on the oppo- side of the strect the residents might be exposed to danger.
