The team placed on the field by Hart and Hutchinson was the strong- est yet to wear the “H. H.” uniform. Kania, a college pitcher, was on the mound and twirled first class ball but had rather poor support. He was touched up for five hits, one of them a long homer to left field by Rip Fallon, another a two-bagger by Oakes and the remaining three were singles. Pete Fusari displayed his old-time form by playing erroriess ball throughout the game, retiring five batsmen and assisting in a like num- ber of put-outs His circuit clout went far onto the second diamond and gave him time aplenty to round the sacks before it could be ficlded. Schmidt’s clout came after about two minutes’ of play. the ball knocked out into the pasture being the third delivered by Kania in the first inning. The results: New Britain Machine. h. N.
