According to Joseph roommate of the Barrett, a suicide, and who came here with him from New Jer- sey, Venek left his work at 5 o'clock Friday afternoon, complaining of iliness. Saturday afternoon, about 2:30 o’'clock, Venek asked Barrett to go and get a physician. Barrett left the room and when he could not get a physician he returned to the room and found Venek lying on the floor, and appearing to be in intense pain. Barrett again left to look for a doc- tor, going to the office of Dr. Julius Hupert When the two men returned to the hotel, th2y found the door leading to the room locked. Another door was forced, and on gaining admission they discovered the body of Venek sus- pended on a rope from a chandelie The body was cut down, and efforts to resuscitate proved fruitless.
