Cornelius Lynch, aged 28 vears, of 37 Hurlburt street, an employve of the Connecticut Light and Power com- pany at the distributing station on Elm street, had a miraculous escape from death vyesterday morning. While working around some high ten- sion wires Lynch’s left hand same in contact with one of the wires carrying 11,000 wvolts. ™e will recover. Lynch was working between two rows of transformers when the acci- dent happened. He was found Iying alongside the dangerous wires and word was sent to the police station. Lieutenant Edward Woods and Fi man George Sparmer rushed to the scene with the pulmotor, while Chief W. J. Rawlings and Officers Matthias Rival and Michael Brophy also hu ried there with the police ambulance. Efforts to ue the pulmotor were un- availinz, Lynch's teeth being so tight- ened it was impossible to open them. Dy H. T. Bray and Dr. P. W. Fox arrived at the power housc and gave the injured man treatment. As soon Lynch began to recover conscious- he became very violent and it necessary to secure ropes to bind him before he could be placed in the ambulance. He lives with his brother, Timothy Lynch, on Hurlburt street. a nes: w With the advent of Spring the demand for used cars is greater than the supply.
