From the warning of the Romans, “Tempus Fugit” (Time Flies), down to the modern, “Procrastination is the thief of time,” delay, putting off till the morrow, has been the great enemy of mankind. “Too Late” may well be written on the tombstone of many failures in life. Lamentable as it is, more millions have been lost through not doing things than all the other misfortunes of the world put together. “It’s Never Too Late To Mend” Gone are the opportunities of yesterday—Buried deep in the past are the mistakes of omission as well as commis- sion. The forward looking, trust-giving and trust-taking individual, with confidence in the present and hope in the future, profits by his mistakes of yesterday. If he failed to do e e e yesterday, he will not com- mit the same error today. Wonderful America All the world admires America. Every nation esteems the boldness of the American man of business. The land that furnished the doughboy, who plugged through the mud and mire of northern France till he had driven ¢he German be- hind the Rhine has come to be the ideal of the whole civilized world. Not Miracles It is no accident of fate that has made this country “whe land of the ideal.” It was not that our fightzrs were born soldiers that made them unconquerable in battle—it was spirit—acquired spirit.. The spirit that made them grit their teeth as they grunted, ““Heaven, Hell or Hoboken by Christmas.” And spirit won the war. L3 L4 e Spirit Wins! Every time—almost without exception—spirit will win out despite every obstacle. We, behind the Kelley Tire & Rubber Company, have the spirit—the determination to win—to build up for ourselves and our shareholders an institu- tion that shall be second to none in this great Tire and Rubber Industry.
