BEGINNING WITH THE HIGHEST IDEALS the Kelley Tire and Rubber Company sought the co-operation of the people of Connecticut in building up a tire industry that would be a model of its kind and bring financial reward to those who had ted in its formation. SUCCESS HAS CROWNED OUR EFFORTS in its initial stages. Funds sufficient to warrant the purchase of a site and the letting of the plans for erection of our factory to a firm of engineers have already been subscribed. THE FACTORY, A MODERN STRUCTURE of concrete coustruction with a main building 100 feet by 260 feet, with office and power plant in separate buildings is soon to be built adjacent to the main line of the New Haven Road. Electricity will be used for power and a spur line electrically operated will be built to the main building. THE PRODUCT WILL BE “KELLEY-KORD"” TIRES and Kelley “Blue” Tubes. At the b eginning about 500 tires and 1,000 tubes will be made daily. It is expected that work will be provided at once for about 400 Workers. Plans of the engineers allow for doubling the size of the plant as soon as conditions warrant.
