Private James McAvay of Lafayette street, a member of the 82d division, has arrived safely in this country, his parents have been notified. He New Britain more than a year ago with a draft increment and was im- mediately sent overseas with a re- placement outfit. The late Private Frederick W. Schade of Greenwood street, killed in action, was Private McAvay's boon companion from the time they left this country until the time the for- mer was killed. They were the only New Britain boys in the division. Pri- vate McAvay was within a few feet of Private Schade when the latter was killed. Pocket Guide For May.
