R A message was received from Camp Gordon, Georgia, that 10,000 soldiers will assemble and sing the favorite songs of Col. Roosevelt. Another mes- ge from Balboa Heights, Panama, said that most all of the men there remembered Colonel and Mrs. Roose- velt, whom they met when they vis ited the canal, and in respect for them they had ceased work for an hour, the time of the funeral. Mrs. Roosevelt and her family are greatly appreciative for the thought- fulness and courtesies extended ta them by the sorrowing thousands throughout the country who shar their grief. Cards of acknowledg- fment will be seat to many who ex pressed their sympathy with floral tributes, but many of these did not inclose addresses and, of caurse, cannot receive acknowledgment cept through the press. And it was not caused by the illness that previously confined him to the hospital.” Widow to Visit Quentin’s Grave. Mrs. Roosevelt will go to France to see her sons and to place a headstone upon Quentin’s grave, but she has not vet decided when she will leave. To meet suggestions from all over the country from friends of Col. Roosevelt who wish to hold memor- ial services a movement is under way to provide for such meetings in vari- ous cities and towns in this country and in many foreign citles on the same day and at the same time that the formal exercises in Congress are to be held. This movement has the approvai of the Roosevelt family and of intimate friends of Col Roosevelt who have been consulted. ‘Congress has not had time to make its plans or fix a date, but it is believed the memorial ceremony will take the form of a joint session of the House and the Senate, with an address by some noted spealk- er.
