Washington, Dec. 16.—Christmas enrolment weeko f the American Red Cross opened today throughout the country with officials hopeful of a large increase over the present mem- bership of 22,000,000, The campaign ends Dec. 23. The money obtained through membership fees will be used to cary out the great peace time progrem which the Red Cross has set for itself not orly in the United States but in every land where a sufferisg people may need assist- ance.
