~SERVICE Is the basis on which the New Britain Herald was established and ha maintained. The News First has been its slogan since the first issue was publishé"' and that slogan is in force today. ; ; It is the aim of the Herald to print news while it is news, not history, and in this respect it has been highly successful. Although the war has distracted the attention of the people from events which were once considered of great importance, the Herald has not neglected the local field and it continues to give complete, concise accounts of happenings in New Britain and vicinity. With the unparalleled service of the Associated Press, the Herald has kept its readers informed, through personal accounts by correspondents, of the progress of the war. Frequently it has been twenty-four hours ahead of contemporaries. Appreciation of the prestige gained by the Herald is demonstrated by business houses within a wide radius. Merchants know they can reach the consumers and spend large sums of money annually advertising in the columns of the Herald. All the best business establishments advertise in the Herald and those whose announcements are found here are deserving of complete trust and patronage. Everyone Else Is Reading THE HERALD. Are You! ————————————————————— ——————————————————————————— B —e
