Plainfield, Sept., 27.—Milk producers of this part of the state who ship daily to Providence, R. I, and Boston about 160,000 quarts for which they now recelve 6 1-2 cents, will demand an Increase to at least 8 cents on October 1, it was stated here today. According to some of the producers unless the demands are met the farm- ers will refuse to ship milk. More OLD VETERAN DIES. Killingly, Conn., Sept., 27.—Samuel Jacques Goldsmith, 92 years old, and said to have been the oldest civil war veteran in southern New Emgland, died yesterday at his home near the Rhode Island state line, it was learned today. He was in 26 engagements during the war and spent some time as a prisoner of war at Andersonville.
