Nearest of Kin (1t xo parents) (Kill This Out and Return to Editor of The Herald.) . . New Britain has been given credit for 327 enlistments. This fact augurs well for the patriotism shown by the men and young men of this city. Citizens believe, however, that the number of enlistments credited to New Britain has been underestimated. 513 more more will be taken from this place to help fill up the ranks of Uncle Sam’s first draft army. Adding these two figures, the total number of men that this city will furnish is 840. For the purpose of getting the names of all local boys who have en- listed in one branch of the service or another, the Herald each days pub- lishes blanks like the above. It is urgently requested that any individual having a son or kinsman in the mil- itary, fill out one of these blanks and send. it to the Editor of the Herald. After the list is complete it will be published and kept on record, with possibilities that in years to come it will be used for historical purposes. Only by hearty co-operation on the part of each Individual can this plan be carried out successfully. Fill out the blank now. Porfiros, well known local bakers.
