Wood of New York provided the thrills yesterday morning in the fourth round of the Women's National Lawn Tennis tournament, on the turf courts of the Philadelphia Cricket club at St. Martin’s-in-the- Fields. Mrs. Harvey, fighting an uphill bat- tle from the start, was the winner at 1—6, 6—4, 7—F5, but her victory was only achieved after Mrs. Wood had pjayed herself to the point of exhaus- tion. When Mrs. Harvey had shot across the winning point in the last set and the rivals had shaken hands over the net, Mrs. Wood walked slowly to a chair beside the court and sat down.
