WAGNER OFF DUTY; RIVAL WITH PATROL “Expose of Police Department Dwin- dles, Showing Officers Were Try- ing to Do Their Best. Indications are that a mountain has been made out of a mole hill in the alleged expose published in a marn- | ing paper concerning the police de- | partment. S. McMahon’s garbage truck had to be pressed into service 2s an auxiliary patrol. Further investigation of these charges puts a little different lig¢ht on them. In doing so, he left his telephone number in order that he might start out an any call that came in during the lunch hour. That accounts for Officer Rival absence and also that of the patrol, and Fireman Edward Woods, who drove the auxiliary to the scene of the arrest, was just returning fram his Scientific Sterling It Takes only 36- inches space - = e ———— ) % DECIDE * TOIDAY!
